Can feng shui be read from a photo?
For the Form School, mostly yes. It reads a room by what can be seen: where the bed meets the wall, what the door lines up with, what hangs over a desk. A clear photo from the doorway carries most of that; what lies beyond the frame, like the far side of the headboard wall, is asked about.
What a photograph can show
The Form School, the oldest school of feng shui, works by eye. It asks what stands behind the bed, what the door looks at, whether a beam crosses above a seat, whether a mirror faces the door. Each of those questions is settled by the shape of the room, and a photograph keeps that shape.
The compass schools read other things. Eight Mansions works from the year you were born, and Flying Stars from where the year’s stars fall in a home; neither needs a picture, which is why your lucky directions and the year’s home map ask for a date instead.
Taking the photo
- Stand in the doorway with the lights on, so the whole room and two walls are in the frame.
- In a bedroom, keep the whole bed in view, head and foot.
- Up to four photos of one room can go together, which leaves less of it out of view.
- People in the picture do not stop a reading, though an empty room keeps their privacy. A listing photo or a render can be read too; your own room gives the truer reading.
What a photo cannot see
A photograph is faithful to what it frames and silent about the rest. A beam behind the camera, a door just out of shot, the street beyond the window: none of these reach the reading unless another photo or an answer brings them in, which is why LuckMove asks, one question at a time, when the frame leaves something out.
Feng shui arranges a space. A reading says what the tradition holds about your room, never what will happen to you, and it asks for no belief.
The first look, and the full reading
LuckMove circles each spot on your photo, gives the room a chi score out of 100 and reads the heaviest findings in full, in about a minute; the first look at every room is open. The full reading, opened with membership, adds every finding, the fixes in order and your room after the fixes; one real bedroom, read in full, shows all of it.
Questions people ask
For the Form School, mostly: the bed, the door, beams, mirrors and sharp corners all show in a clear photo taken from the doorway. What the frame leaves out, LuckMove asks about, one question at a time.
One photo from the doorway with the lights on, the whole room and two walls in the frame; in a bedroom, the whole bed. Up to four photos of the same room can be sent together.
About a minute for the first look, from sending the photo to the circled spots and the heaviest findings.
Your photograph is never published. Anyone with your private link can see it. It stays with your reading, and you can delete it from your account page whenever you like.
Any room you live in: bedroom, living room, home office, entryway, kitchen, bathroom, balcony or yard, each with a reading of its own.
